Vulvodynia
Vulvodynia refers to chronic pain in the vulva. Symptoms of Vulvodynia vary from vulvar burning and irritation to rawness and sharp pain. These symptoms appear when there is prolonged pressure on the vulva as in horse riding or even without any trigger. The pain might even extend to the inner thighs and top of legs. Chronic Vulvodynia can lead to low self-esteem and depression. Antidepressants such as amitriptyline are used to treat the pain. Local application of cream or gels might give relief.
